By now, if you've implemented all the strategies I've shown you correctly, you should have some contacts building
up in your " Verified Contacts" group in Group.Mail.Each of these contacts should have also received his first email, the
one thanking them to for sending their contact info.
The purpose of this chapter is to teach you what and how to say,and when to say.In other words, this is where you begin
to build the relationship process with your new contacts.
Three Main Communication Tools.
There are three main communication tools you'll be using to keep in touch with your new contacts,email, instant
messenger and online voice conference rooms, Each has his own use, so let me help you to understand the rationale of each
of these.
Email is used with the purpose to of getting the new contact to engage in communication with you. It's
the method of first connection. You will ask questions about their purpose, goals, strategies,...current business and you'll
use email to invite them to have an instant messenger conversation with you where you can get to know them better.
Instant Messenger ( IM) is used to carry live, text-chat conversations with your contacts. There are several IM programs
available and they are FREE. The most common ones are
Yahoo ( I use it mostly ) and MSN . To use instant messaging,
you simply ad your contact's IM ( Instant Message ) username to your friend's or buddy list and the program will show you
when they are online or offline.When they are online, you can send instant text messages to them in real time.
Online voice conference rooms are used to meet with your contacts in a "place" where you can actually talk with
them by using the microphone speakers earphones on your computer.I use PAL TALK voice conference rooms for this purpose
because they have excellent sound and even a dial up connection.
What Should I Say to my Contacts ?
There is probably the most common question I receive, and unfortunately there is no routine answer to this. You
are going to have to start learning ' think on your feet'. There is no script to follow nor there is any type of 'form
letter' to send to your list.
Here are some basic pointers for you, then I'll give you some examples:
* DO NOT try to sell your contacts anything directly through email.
* Ask questions about THEIR business,...about
their marketing strategies,...about their personal and business goals,Ask where they live.Ask about the weather whey they
are...etc.
* If you are missing their names,phone number and instant messenger address, ask them to send it to you.
*
Offer them a FREE subscription to the eCourse. If you have created a lead capture page,send them there, otherwise provide
them with the link to the site where the eCourse is located.
* Keep your messages VERY short and to the point. 5
sentences or less is best.
* Invite them to an instant messenger chat session.
* Invite them to meet you in your
persoanal PAL TALK online conference room.
* Email one contact at a time,NOT the entire list. These emails need to
be
personalised for each of your contacts. Remenber,...the objective is to start a converation with them, get to know them, and
build a relationship.
*DO NOT email your 'Verified Contact' list everyday. Instead ,choose one person on the list,send
him or her an email and wait for a response. When you receive a response with an answer to one of your questions,acknowlege
them for the answering and ask another question to keep the conversation moving.
* BE YOURSELF and don't try to rush trough
the process. Act relaxed and be YOU.
* Record any new information you receive about the contact in their contact record
in the Group Mail.This way you'll never have to worry about what to talk about with your contacts. In your notes,include the
date of last communication for each prospect.
* Don't use the email acount you set up for your safelist emails to
email your contacts. Use your regular email account to be sure that you don't miss any correspondence from your
contacts.
Example Conversation with a Contact
This is an example of a typical conversation I'll have with a contact via email.This is not meant to be used as a "script" because
you really need ot focus of being
YOU , not Me...but this should give you the basic flavour of the conversation :
=====
Hello , Alex !
This is Adrian S., remember me ? You replied to my email and indicated that you want to stay in
touch regarding online marketing strategies several days ago.
What company do you represent ?
Sincerely,
Adrian S.
( all my contact data displayed again here )
=====
See what I mean ? Short...to the point...no sales hypes.Just a simple communication to the new contact with the intention
of beginning a conversation.
Here's a typical response.
=====
Hello Adrian ,
I represent **********. We sell mostly shoes.
Probably not exactly what you need just now...eh ?
Sincerely,
Alex
=====
Ok...mission accomplished.I've got a conversation started. here's how it continues :
=====
Hello, Alex.,
Definitely not for me I wear only Adidas ,beside going to a wedding which I do not do everyday.Perhaps for
the rest of my family...
How are you currently pomoting your opportunity ?
Sincerely
Adrian S.
( all my contact data here )
=====
Again, no sales hypes, no offers...just continuing the conversation. Please note that I''ve included all my contact data
to each of these emails. If you use Yahoo Mail , you may go to Mail Options to put it all your contact data in the Signature
of your letters.Let's continue:
=====
Hy, Adrian ,
I'd like to talk to your wife about on other of my businesses, cosmetics, is she available at the phone number from your
last email ?
I mostly promote this through free online ads, although it's not working that well.
Sincerely ,
Alex.

=====
And .lo ! Here's his response :
=====
Hello ,Adrian , YES, anythings that helps would be GREAT !!!
Can you send it by email ?
Alex
=========
Hmmm, sounds like he's having some frustations with his marketing offorts :
=========
Hi, Alex,
i/ve posted the eCourse on the internet .You may reach it at

It definitely made a huge difference for me.

Sincerely,
Adrian
( all my contact data listed here again )
======
Ok, I Think you get the drift of thr conversation.Eventually , I'll get his phone number or invite him
to meet me in my online voice conference room...and the rest is history...
I do not konw which part of the mapamond you live and what are your internet hardware resources. Don't you have
an audio internet connection ? Use the Instant Messenger facility either. Does it fails to fonction ? ( t'is
happen ...) . Use email and BUILD RELATIONSHIPS FIRST , SELL LATER.
Again, just converse...don't sell.Offer your assistrance by giving them a free eCourse.This is very simple and it works,
mainly for thw quality of information you provided to them.
Check in with your contacts regularly to see how the'rere doing.Any time you get a good marketing tip ,share it
with them and soon you'll have a loyal following of contacts.
Not all of these people will enroll in yourprimary business..but some will.The inpomrant thing is the relatrionship,
because you never know when they'll become tired of their primary business and decide to go where they';ll gget real support...FROM
YOU.
The main goal of all this work is t oeventually find prospects that you WANT to work with, and who want to work with
YOU. Believe me, you will stand out like a sore thumb among all the other people who just keep blindly sending out their advertisementts
day after day... after day...with no personal communication.
