You
may think that the purpose of building your contact list is so you can blast your email ads to it and make TONS of sales...Right ?
WRONG
! ( At least for NOW )
In
fact you'll find that immediately sending your advertising messages to your list will actually have the effect of turning
those people to the idea of EVER doing business with you !
There
are people who consistently blast their email ads all over the Internet both to opt/in lists and to SPAM lists. Are they doing
it because it works ?
No,
They are doing it that way because they don't know any better...but that does not mean that they can' t learn. I'm even going
to show you how to capitalize on their junk mail in another chapter.
The
purpose of building your list is BUILD RELATIONSHIPS.
Look...
the contacts you are collecting are real PEOPLE. They are not just email address or leads...but real living breathing human
beings... and they ALL have needs. The strategy is to :
1. Establish REAL communication with your new contacts.
2. Let them kow who you are, that you want to help them, and how can be
contacted
3. Find out what THEY are realy in need of to help build their business.
4. Show
them that YOU are capable of providing what THEY need.
5. Continue to build the relationship and trust through constant
communication.
6. Obtain their telephone number and other contact info as soon as possible.
7. Gradually introduce them to your primary business.
Ok let's take a look at each of these steps in
details because the faster you FULLY UNDERSTAND this strategy and how it works, the faster you'll achieve success in your
online business.
Step 1.
Real communication is the INTERCHANGE of ideas
between two or more people. It can not be done through auto - responders, websites and any other automated means. Each person
you communicate with will have different needs, wants and realities. If you take the time to find out what these are, you
will have no problem establishing real communication with your contacts.
The way you will initially establish this communication
is by sending each contact a personalised email from YOU...NOT FROM AN AUTO-RESPONDER ! Your first communication should NOT
contain any type of marketing message...just an invitation to share ideas about business with you.
Step 2.
The first email you send should contain your full
name , your real email address, your telephone number and all your Instant Messenger ID. ( I'll talk more a about Instant Messenger' s
later).
You should also tell the person a little bit about
yourself ,like how long you've been involved in the home based business arena, what your income goals are and what of your
plans are for the immediate future.
This email should also contain an invitation to
add your information to their contact list and a request to THEIR full contact information so you can stay in touch and exchange
marketing ideas,...etc.
Step 3
By staying in regular communication with your
new contacts , you will find out ( by asking questions ) what problems and successes
they're having in their current business, what solutions they ' ve come up with
for the problem the've run and into and what they feel they need most the help.
Ideally, you will have their telephone number
or Instant Messenger ID so you can establish live communication with them either online or by phone.
This initial round of communication should be very casual and friendly. Don't sound like a sales person or you'll quickly
lose the respect or trust before you even establish it. Find out Where they live,. What they like to do, what the weather
is like...etc. Very casual and non-threatening.
Step 4.
Do what you can to help them find solution to
their marketing problems. Offer them a FREE copy of this eCourse to help them to establish their own contact list. Let them
know how much it is helping you and that you want to give them the same opportunity to learn how to market.
Step 5
Follow up regularly to make sure they are using
this course. Ask how it is working for them. Offer help and assistance when necessary.
Brainstorm with them about marketing and advertizing ideas.
Share anything you leam along the way that you
feel will help them in their primary business. Continue to build the relationship.
Step 6
Every communication needs to contain YOUR CONTACT
information AND needs to remind them to send THEIR contact information to YOU.
Tell them that you'd like to talk by phone and
get to know them better. Don't be afraid to ask for their telephone number and Instant Messenger IDs. The telephone and Instant
Messenger are the keys that open the door to success !
Step 7
The way to gradually introduce your contacts to
your primary business is by dropping little bits of information here and there in your communications.
Tell them how you are using the eCourse to build
your "primary business" and how well it si working. Let them know from time to
time when you ' d sign up a new person, when you get a commission check,...etc.
Continually ask them how things are going in their
primary business. Let them know that you think that it would be great if they were in your team and so you could work together
with them.
Many of these people are waiting for someone like you to come along...someone they can work with that can really, honestly,
help them. These are people who will join you in you primary business.
Keep in mind that not all of these people who will join your primary business,
but that doesn't mean you should drop out communication with then either. You never know when something could change in their
lives that lead them to right back to YOU.
Marketing is nothing more than gathering
lists of identities (contacts), staying in touch with
them, building relationships and eventually offering them your products and/or services.
